Last week was family March Break trip time!
Nick's family was down in the Dominican and our family joined him (minus my son who is at university).
And Mike D's family joined in the Punta Cana fun too!
That's Nick and myself discovering that you can take pictures of your shadows on the beach, LOL!
The weather was incredible, 30-35 degrees and sunny every day.
Blue skies. Beautiful.
I was up early on the beach each morning to watch the sun come up, read a little, make some notes, listen to podcasts and some audio books.
That early morning peace and sunshine is my favourite part of the day. Gives me time to clear my head, organize my thoughts, and think more deeply.
It was during those mornings last week that I prepared some notes on the future of our economy, and it is more clear than ever that we're approaching a serious crossroads of big data, computing, artificial intelligence, and energy.

We met this guy with his business partner, Peter Politis, 15 years ago and couldn't believe what they were sharing with us. They were raising capital for some of the biggest developers in Canada and structuring it all in a manner that allowed Canadians to invest alongside the developers.
Most of the time those types of investments scare us, but not with these guys. They've gone on to raise hundreds of billions of dollars and work with the largest real estate developers in Canada and now the U.S. as well.
Craig Race - Craig Race Architecture
Craig worked on the Toronto by-law with some peers to get laneway housing approved. He takes single family lots in Toronto and turns them into the most beautiful 10-unit properties you've ever seen.
That's right; he'll take a single family lot, sub-divide it, create two beautiful 4-plexes and add multi-level laneway housing in the back.
Who said you can't create cash flow with real estate any more?
His properties are gorgeous, and he's on the streets working to improve housing in Toronto for all of us. Just incredible.
