Happy New Year!!
Watch out 2026 here we come!!
Ontario has had some wild weather north of the city this week.
Driving home from Blue Mountain yesterday was a combination of alternating sunny skies and low visibility snow squalls.
Between the wild micro-weather changes, we grabbed that picture above just off Airport Road north of Toronto.
Because of the wild weather there were multiple road closures throughout the week...our son was stuck at a cottage because the laneway entrance was covered with ice so thick and clean that you could skate on it.
Canadian winters teach you that more powerful forces than yourself are at work in the world.
More on that in a second...
In this weekly email we often share the importance of hard assets.
How there is a wealth transfer going on...from people with incomes to people with assets.
And we'll share strategies like student rentals or garden suites or the Bitcoin Real Estate Asset Strategy (BREAS) or buying gold and building emergency reserves of liquid cash.
And these are all important.
But there's one area of life we discuss less, and in my opinion, it's even more important to your personal success than a hard asset.
It's about the quality of the information you regularly feed your mind.
The health and vitality of your subconscious.
Stick with me here.
When Nick and I were very young our mom took us to a meditation camp at the Toronto Central Library for two summers in a row.
We have used those lessons to help us navigate the world.
One of the biggest lessons we took from that was that your life responds to non-physical inputs in the world.
And that if you don't feed your mind new, good, quality information...to make it stretch and grow...your physical world will begin to stagnate.
Check out this from Norman Doidge (psychiatrist and author of The Brain That Changes Itself):
“As we age and plasticity declines, it becomes increasingly difficult for us to change in response to the world, even if we want to. We find familiar types of stimulation pleasurable; we seek out like-minded individuals to associate with, and research shows we tend to ignore or forget, or attempt to discredit, information that does not match our beliefs, or perception of the world, because it is very distressing and difficult to think and perceive in unfamiliar ways.”
If we lack new or challenging inputs it leads to rigidity in our lives.
And in 2026, more than perhaps ever, we're going to face an onslaught of new inputs!
Here's what Andrew Huberman (Stanford neuroscientist) has said on this:
“Every time you learn something new or have a novel experience, you’re essentially creating a new path in this network [of brain connections].”
New experiences and new information trigger the changes needed to rewire our brain for better adaptation and learning.

We believe 2026 will be the year that technology, and specifically Artificial Intelligence, hits the exponential curve in its use and effectiveness.
Our future prosperity will heavily depend on how you handle all of this.
We're very serious.
Be careful what you tell yourself and what others feed your mind.
Many people will use past experiences to try and predict a future for which no precedents exist.
This year, more than ever, you're going to want to accumulate your favourite hard assets and gather good information to guide your thoughts, challenge your beliefs and stretch your context.
It's one reason why, for our VIP group this year, we're adding something we've never done before.
We're adding a monthly AI workshop where we share how we're personally and professionally using AI at Rock Star.
