Yes, we went to the Leafs game this past Saturday.
Yes, it was the worst playoff game ever…and we’ve seen a bunch of bad ones!
Yes, I was booing them…loudly.
And yes, I’m still a massive fan and they’re going to WIN TONIGHT!!!
GO LEAFS GO!!
LOL, Leafs fans, we’re a strange breed. Endless hope.
Anyhoo…
Let’s talk about the next few years.
Clearly the central banks know the world has way too much debt.
Jerome Powell, the head of the Federal Reserve, lightly scolds the U.S. government regularly about its spending. He knows he is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Raise rates now, with this much debt, and you tank the economy.
Lower rates now, with inflation still lingering, you inflate away the currency.
We have a few large tech companies hogging all the S&P 500 gains.
There are multiple wars around the world.
The cost of living, housing, food, just about everything…is way up.
It’s a wild time.
This is a classic 'Fourth Turning' episode which means it likely gets a tad crazier before anything gets much better.
But here’s the thing, there is always opportunity out there.
There is ALWAYS a way to live life on your terms.
We are in the middle of the democratization of just about everything.
Today, you can start your own podcast and earn the attention that is leaving the mainstream media.
You can launch your own YouTube channel and earn thousands of followers.
A friend of ours just cracked over 250,000 subscribers to his channel!
You can use A.I. from Pika Labs to create studio-quality movies with a few clicks. Incredible. Is the next big movie producer the kid in his basement next door?
You can own a global monetary asset that is native to the Internet, like Bitcoin, and travel the world with little need for the old banking system.
We know an Austrian Economist in his 20s who roams the world, travelling to wherever he wants, attends conferences, and lives as a full digital nomad.
He makes money consulting with app developers and his community is global.
Nation states are being replaced by “network states” (h/t @Balajis) and it’s so early that very few see it.
In Ontario you can now buy a single lot and divide it into two lots, build a 4-plex on each and put a laneway house in the back … turning 1 house into a legal 10-plex over two lots. LOL!
So please, don’t let the world or your temporary circumstances get you down.
There are ENDLESS possibilities for you.
The opportunities ahead are great.
The big trends of distributed energy, artificial intelligence, and computing power will change the world.
Here’s something we’ve learned over the years…
Whatever niche you decide to focus on:
Principles give you staying power. Tactics are short-term trends that can fade.
For example, Student Rentals or Airbnb or BRRRRs can be a great tactic for sure. But the bigger picture would be the principles used to build a portfolio that isn’t overly leveraged and has lasting power.
Nourish your mindset. Feed your brain with uplifting and healthy information.
No need to avoid “being realistic”. But no need to be doom and gloom all day either.
Read books like, How to Win Friends & Influence People, or, Think & Grow Rich, or, The Richest Man in Babylon, or anything from Tony Robbins.
Speaking of positive stuff…
