Seeing that picture above when I was randomly going through my camera roll yesterday just brought on a huge smile.
Life has its ups and its downs and its twists and turns.
No one has everything figured out.
But Nick and I have figured out one thing...
The real richness of life comes from the people you meet along the way.
That's Mike, Ruben, and Kevin above.
Mike is a superhero.
Ruben is a repeat champion.
Kevin is a one-of-a-kind absolute gem.
Each of them has had a huge impact on our lives.
This week there's been a lot going on. For me personally, a lot more than usual.
All good stuff...but a lot.
Definitely feeling a little pulled in too many directions.
But as my little brother Nicholas and I enter this stage of life, we truly appreciate all the good people we have been blessed to know.
Several of those people have been helping us out with some projects this week.
Life has gotten a lot easier as our network of good friends has grown.
If we have an issue with almost anything...accounting, legal, contracting, real estate, banking, financing, renovations, fitness, health, you name it...we have a contact.
And most of the time that contact is already a friend.
It's like the investments in relationships that started 20+ years ago are all coming back to help us in totally unexpected ways.
We didn't really plan for this, it just happened.
Knowing all these great people has made our lives much easier in so many ways.
I'm sharing this because by now you likely know we have a big event coming up.
And some people will come for the speakers and presentations, that's normal.
But, to us, the real value is the quality of the people in that room.
The friends, the long-time Rock Star members, the clients, the colleagues, the experts, the moms, dads, sons, daughters, and the families who come as a team...they're the real show.
We know how many of them have helped each other out.
We know how many of them have been through rough times.
We know so many of them have crawled out from those rough times and made a life on their terms.
We know.
And that's why we're so excited for these things.
Bringing that type of group together on a Saturday morning is pretty special to us.
Life is full of challenges, taxes, curveballs, and wild times.
But at the end of the day, getting to hang out with good friends is life's true richness.
To laugh, cry, and help each other out through the ups and downs means everything.
We don't take for granted the opportunity to encourage someone during their first rental or with the start of their new business.
