Well, he did it!
That's Nick at the end of the 70km 2023 Velo Blue charity bike ride in Niagara on the Lake.
Nick isn't super experienced on long-ish bike rides.
But it was for a great cause so he jumped right in.
Next to him is long time Rock Star VIP Member, Ryan...who for the record is a much more experienced rider than Nick! But apparently Nick held his own.
Who knows, maybe both of us will make an appearance next year, let's see.
I think the opportunity to do these types of things is really part of living life on our own terms. Having the time and freedom to do as we please is pretty gratifying.
In just the last few months, Nick has been in Croatia, Italy, Austria, Niagara on the Lake, then Spain and now back home.
Actually, yesterday he was in Hamilton dealing with a contractor who is digging out the side of a rental property for us to waterproof it.
So basically Nick has gone from the Adriatic Sea to a mud trench in Hamilton...what a journey this life is!
Actually, before that he was dealing with another water issue we had at a different rental property.
So it's been busy.
Life isn't a straight line, that's for sure.
It's more like a wild zig-zag of ups and downs that you sometimes feel you're hanging onto for dear life!
Kind of like the real estate market right now.
(...and the bond market, and the stock market, and the entire economy!!)
Listen, we lived through the 1990s where our family almost lost everything in a brutal six year downturn on real estate.
It started with a bang in 1990 and then slowly ground down for six long years.
One year, my friends and I were all working multiple jobs in the summer...I was a CIBC bank teller in Etobicoke and working full time on condo construction sites from Etobicoke to Queens Quay to Georgetown.
The next summer, about a dozen of my friends would come by and hang out in our parents' backyard all summer...no one had a job.
Those were dark days.
So are they back? What can we expect over the next 12-36 months?
Well, history definitely rhymes but the fundamentals are slightly different this time.
Does that matter? Will it change how the central bankers handle all of this?
This is EXACTLY what we will be covering next Saturday October 14, 2023.
We will have one of the biggest real estate capital guys in all of Canada there to share what they are seeing with large developers in Canada and the U.S.
That should be insightful right now.
We have the author The Price of Tomorrow: Why Deflation is Key to An Abundant Future, Jeff Booth, to discuss technology and the current debt ridden economy.
He'll blow your mind.
We have the co-founder of Wind Mobile (now called Freedom Mobile), Brice Scheschuk, there to share his story and journey.
We have a real estate developer and a good friend of ours flying up from Florida to give us a taste of what's going on down there with rental properties.
And we're giving a full-blown, brand new Rock Star Economic Update to go over this debt riddled economic madness and what we personally expect to see unfold.
We made a fun video to share what's going on in the style of "The Matrix".
The feedback on this video has been over-the-top amazing. It's only 2-minutes long, if you haven't checked it out yet then you're missing out!
You can click right here to watch it on YouTube right now!
We have less than 5% of the seats left, that's right...we're 95% full for this!
It's going to be jammed.
So if you haven't grabbed your seat yet, then do so right now!
You can check out all the details of this event right here:

(Quick aside: If you're a Rock Star Inner Circle Member and you haven't yet registered for the event, reach out to the Membership Team ASAP by email or phone, or login to the Membersite to save your seat!)
I think in turbulent times it's more important than ever to have a strong network of support around you.
Between the speakers, the amazing sponsors, and the attendees...this is a pretty special group.
It might be more important than ever to be there.
We're off preparing for it...see you Saturday October 14!!
Tom & Nick
p.s. I could totally beat Nick in a 70km bike race. No problem at all.
p.p.s. Check out all the details of the YLYT Event by visiting www.YourLifeYourTermsEvent.com and if you're thinking of attending don't wait...it's going to be fun for everyone!!
