OK that’s me on the left, Tom.
Nick is on the right. And our good friend, Rob Minton, in the middle.
Somehow Rob found this picture and sent it over to us.
We assume it’s from 2006 or 2007.
What the heck are we wearing?
In my defence, this was just as I was quitting my corporate job, I had never seen the inside of a gym yet, and my diet was horrible.
If you weren’t aware, Rob Minton has been a great mentor to us and has become a good friend.
He was running a brokerage in Ohio that worked exclusively with investors and it was with his guidance that we launched “Income for Life” here in Canada in 2006.
That eventually morphed into Rock Star Real Estate in 2008.
And as the saying goes, the rest is history.
Rock Star investors have now purchased over $2 Billion in income property and the growth of that number is accelerating.
As a group, Rock Star investors literally have millions of dollars of rental income pouring in each month.
There have been thousands of people who have joined the Rock Star Inner Circle membership over the years and there are over 1,000 active members today.
We have gone from renting a closet-sized office (it was literally a closet) in a brokerage to buying Rock Star’s own 4,000+ square foot office space.
The team has grown from myself and Nick to over 60 people here at Rock Star.
One of the most important things we learned over the years when it comes to “going it alone” is the importance of having a system to make the phone ring.
Your ability to attract new customers consistently is the key to business (and perhaps personal) freedom.
Over the last week we have had more people than usual ask us about building their own business so we sat down with Anthony Molinaro on the team to chat about some of our thinking in this area.
You can catch that episode of the Rock Star Minutes by clicking right here.
We’re sharing all this because if you’re out there trying to figure out if your idea can be turned into a business we’re here to tell you that…absolutely it can.
With some hustle, ruthless priority management, and the understanding that customer acquisition systems are your key to success…the sky’s the limit.
By the way, Rob Minton, runs a great newsletter and business-building program called Cashflownaire, and you can learn more about him and it by visiting www.renegademillionaireblog.
OK some updates…
1. The world is messy right now. War in the Ukraine, possible recession incoming in the U.S., Canada’s unstoppable housing market pricing families out of home ownership, gas prices going up and up and up, etc.
We’re recording a podcast today to share some updated thoughts on all of this and we’ll get that one out early next week. Lots to share!
2. Canada has decided to finally raise interest rates.
In the face of 30% house price increases across the country, with inflation at 30-year-highs, we went out and did the MASSIVE rate increase of...ready for it…ready for it…0.25%.
You can’t make this stuff up.
This takes a variable rate mortgage from 1.5% to 1.75%
Or if the variable rate mortgage is structured differently it may not change the rate at all and the amortization schedule is simply adjusted a tad to accommodate this change.
Well, we’re sure that incredible rate increase is sure to have a huge impact on the real estate market (we’re joking of course!)
The better news may be that we’re starting to see a lot of new listings popping up. That should calm the market a tad more than this interest rate move.
How can the Bank of Canada, with a straight face, tell Canadians that they’re fighting inflation with that move? It’s embarrassing.
Hard assets are the only way to play this monetary game. Get yours will you can.
And remember, if those three guys in that picture above can live life on their terms…then you definitely can as well!
Even with everything going on in the world today there’s no limit to what’s possible for you.
You can grow your existing business further if you choose, you can advance your career in a different direction if you’d like, you can start a brand new business and crush it, you can absolutely create a custom lifestyle that suits your needs perfectly.
Keep going, you can do it. Find people that will support you and hang around them often.
Hanging around people who are actually doing things automatically puts you into action and makes you believe you can do them too.
Find your Rob Minton, it can change your life. It changed ours.
That’s it for this week!
