That’s me after making about 80 sticks full of cotton candy.
I think all the sugar was getting to me putting some sort of intense smile on my face. LOL!
It was all a part of a street party a few of us organized on our street.
While I was looking into the bouncy castle rental I saw a cotton candy machine, and knowing how much kids love it, I couldn’t help but get that too.
Oh, and if you’re wondering why Tom looks so different it’s because it’s me, Nick, the younger Karadza brother, taking over for the week.
Seeing all the kids run around at the party was awesome.
It got a few of the adults remembering different stages of our youth as well.
Some were surprised to hear I bought my first property at 21 years old.
I’ll never forget it.
I left the lawyer's office after signing the papers and headed West on the 401 back to my parents’ home where I was still living.
And I burst into tears.
It was a combination of nerves and outright fear.
I had just taken every dollar to my name up to that point and bought the worst property I could find.
A beat up, leaky, 2-bedroom bungalow in Port Credit.
I felt alone.
This was my undertaking and I really hadn’t figured out how I was going to get the work needed done, never mind sell it for a profit.
I had just decided that a 9 to 5 job wasn’t going to get me where I had planned to be by the time I was 30.
So I turned to real estate as an option.
In the process, I had gone to all sorts of events and seminars.
And each one left me with more questions than answers.
Because few people there were actually doing any investing.
Most were trying to sell something, either a course or the next greatest network marketing opportunity.
That’s when I realized I would have to figure this out on my own.
And after calling in some favours from family and friends, I did.
It took longer than I thought and there was less profit than planned, but I did it!
And that was the start of a life changing journey.
It may sound strange but that moment of tearing up in my Honda Civic was me breaking off from the standard path I was taught to follow to trying to live life on my terms.
It was the emotional reaction to breaking away from fear, uncertainty, and doubt.
It’s easy to see now, but at the time I was just freaking out.
Tom had his own emotional moments that he’s shared.
Now, neither of us would trade them for anything.
Life on our terms is the biggest reward we can have.
Although lately, my terms is more like my kids' terms as I shuttle them everywhere they want to go, but I’m glad I can do it!
Recently, we were talking to a couple entrepreneurs who have their own stories like this.
They own online businesses and have tried to help many others get their own up and running.
You know what they’ve found?
In their words, “we’ve found that many people are looking for a quick money solution, which isn’t aligned with the reality of the industry.”
It’s true.
We’ve often joked it would be easier to sell people the secret code on their remote control to turn their TV into an ATM than proven financial strategies.
It’s what we saw when we started investing and we went to gatherings looking for other investors.
But only found people selling “easy money” opportunities.
That’s exactly why we started the events that we host.
They began by being just about real estate investing.
They’ve become about much more.
It’s for people that may feel alone.
The ones looking around wondering how to break out of their own situation.
Or confused as to the state of things around them, housing, the economy, high prices.
How to create more of what they want, time, freedom, finances, etc.
Truth is, they’re a minority.
But they’re out there.
And even better, they’re getting results.
We know because we have over a thousand of them at every Your Life. Your Terms. Event.
They send us messages and pictures throughout the year wearing YLYT t-shirts while living on their terms.
Truth is…hosting events was never in our plans.
But we couldn’t find real information from people actually taking action anywhere else.
Whether it’s…
An honest look at what’s really going on in the real estate market from the largest and some of the most active investors around…
Understanding the future of finance and money in Canada and globally…
Meeting people who don’t live each day blindly following headlines and are taking action for themselves…
Taking a look at the actual state of our economy, debt, interest rates, to make financial decisions for you and your family…
Breaking out of your own environment to move towards doing things on your terms…
Discovering the absolute latest strategies investors are using around the Golden Horseshoe profitably today (yes, even with today’s prices and interest rates)…
Or to leave with your eyes opened to how much opportunity is right in front of us all…
Then you’ll want to check out the event details at www.YourLifeYourTermsEvent.com
And to make the decision easy we even packaged up a bunch of bonuses that you get with your ticket. But only until tomorrow.
(Of course, if you’re a Rock Star member there is no cost for you just reach out to the membership team or register on the member site).
It would be awesome to have you there.
Heck, it may even save you from driving along the 401 in tears.
Because you’ll have access to the same type of insights and networks we were looking for when we started out, all in one place.
Here are the details.
