We've got something special to share with you.
A couple of weeks ago, two Rock Star investors, Marco and Sara, stopped by the office to record a podcast with Anthony on the team.
After the podcast, he shared their story with the rest of us.
It's the kind of story most parents would never dream of living out.
But they did it anyway, for their kids.
Thirteen years ago, Marco and Sara found themselves staring at a reality no parent ever wants to face.
They were living in Portugal, running businesses in the event and hospitality space, working around the clock to build something for their family.
Then the economic crash hit.
And almost overnight, everything they'd built just...vanished.
They had two little girls, just two and eight years old at the time.
And sitting around hoping things would get better on their own wasn't an option.
So they made a decision that took incredible guts.
They packed up and moved to Canada to start from scratch. Leaving their young daughters behind in Portugal for several months while they got a foundation in place.
Can you imagine those phone calls home every night?
We talk a lot about grit, but that is real-life toughness right there.
When they finally brought their girls over, they took every part-time job they could find. Working long hours, doing whatever it took, rebuilding their lives one step at a time.
A few years back, they found their way into our Rock Star world.
And that’s when the lightbulb went off.
They realized that working harder wasn't the answer.
They needed leverage.
A real vehicle to build wealth so they weren't stuck on the hamster wheel forever.
They decided to do that with real estate.
They took Sara’s incredible eye for design and project management, paired it with Marco’s hands-on construction background, and got to work.
When they didn't have the budget to hire out renovations?
They swung the sledgehammers and did the work themselves. Late nights, covered in dust, figuring it out step by step.
For these two, "no" was never an option.
Fast forward to today...
They own their primary residence with a finished, rented basement.
They own two properties in Kingston with four rental units.
They even bought a property back in Portugal that they're turning into three apartments.
That’s seven families living in safe, comfortable homes that Marco and Sara personally transformed.
And here’s the absolute best part...
Sara just walked away from the corporate world for good.
Today, she's focused on her own business and creative projects.
No boss. No commute. Total control over her time.
